The Role - What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Accounting

  • Complete month end accounting for assigned entities to agreed deadlines, including posting accruals, prepayments and income statement review
  • Prepare and post monthly intercompany recharge invoices, ensuring these are accurate and supported with appropriate evidence
  • Prepare supporting files for VAT returns and manage VAT audit process for South Africa
  • Manage fixed asset registers across the Group
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations

Accounts Payable

  • Process purchase invoices on Netsuite, maintaining accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
  • Reconcile statements of accounts from suppliers, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies
  • Prepare bank reconciliation for company cards ensuring that there is sufficient support for all transactions
  • Manage finance email inbox ensuring that all queries are addressed in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly AP ageing report with commentary

Other responsibilities

  • Assist with external audits across the Group
  • Liaise with external service providers and advisors
  • Maintain the integrity of accounting records in the accounting system
  • Ensure financial records are stored and maintained appropriately
  • Continuously challenge existing processes
  • Support change initiatives to reduce manual processing and automate processes

If you can demonstrate some of the following experience/skills below, we would love to hear from you.

  • Part or fully qualified accountant from a reputable accounting body
  • 2+ years accounting experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Enjoys taking ownership and showing initiative
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Familiarity with Netsuite software is an advantage
  • Banking or financial services experience is an advantage
