Web3 Compliance Officer

Compensation: $100k - $125k

DESCRIPTION: The Compliance Officer is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Compliance Officer, reporting to the Director of Compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization's adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards. Your responsibilities will involve developing and implementing comprehensive compliance programs and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the organization. By leveraging your expertise and dedication, you will contribute to building a robust compliance framework that safeguards our reputation, minimizes risks, and promotes sustainable growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive testing program to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures related to compliance.
  • Review and verify all Know Your Business (KYB) onboarding applications, including any ongoing alerts, with little oversight and escalating red flags as necessary.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to the compliance program to increase robustness and effectiveness.
  • Manage, review, and track compliance inquiries raised by internal and external clients.
  • Develop and maintain robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks.
  • Engage cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Sanctions, FATF Guidelines, and similar types of global regulations.
  • Track and monitor compliance reviews and investigations.
  • Support the creation of compliance reports, including reports to management, and other materials as required.
  • Lead ad hoc projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 7+ years of compliance, risk, or fraud experience.
  • Compliance, risk, or fraud specific certification (e.g., CAMS, CGSS, CRCM, CFE, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to make complex topics easily understood.
  • Strong research, critical thinking, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence, accuracy, and quality.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or activities simultaneously, delivering accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced organization.
  • Great sense of humor.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with internal and external audits, engaging with domestic and/or international regulators.
  • Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin experience.

A range of compensation is provided for transparency, however different factors may affect this range. Some of these factors may include (but are not limited to) education, training, credentials, skills, geographic location, and experience. This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.

Range of Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000
