About the role.
We're looking for a dedicated, ambitious Data Science manager to join our engineering team and help build successful trading products and a hard-working engineering team. In this role, you will be the Data Science Manager of a critical part of the Crypto business, within the Engineering Organisation. In addition to maintaining the existing crypto product, this team will plan and build the next set of features on our crypto roadmap.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Deliver high-quality, impactful projects in record time with thoughtful planning.
- Apply technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across engineering.
- Improve the quality of Robinhood's products and engineering by refining metrics and establishing processes for improvement.
- Work with other engineering managers to refine and improve Robinhood's processes and systems for product development.
- Manage an organization of data science managers as well as senior and staff data scientists and machine learning engineers. Leading this organization includes setting technical direction and vision, prioritizing projects, and facilitating execution. You will also grow the careers of your team members by providing practical feedback throughout the year.
About you:
- Have the passion and drive to solve sophisticated engineering problems that drive business objectives specifically in the Crypto space.
- Technical proficiency to understand and contribute to the design and implementation of projects and ideas.
- Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications.
- Experience working with leads from engineering, product, operations, and compliance to craft a roadmap and measures of success.
- Demonstrable ability to identify, hire, grow, and retain top talent from the industry and leading graduate programs.
- Several years of experience in managing a world class Crypto team.
- Strong technical skills and ability to architect technical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bonus points:
- Experience with Cryptocurrency trading
- Experience with Python, Postgres, and Kafka
