Web3 DeFi Lead

Fuel is building a high-performance blockchain operating system that provides high throughput without sacrificing decentralisation or security. Our project is a full-stack solution that lets anyone deploy a Fuel chain using any configuration they would like (Rollup on Ethereum, Sovereign chain, Appchain, etc.). Our focus is to launch an Ethereum rollup to help scale Ethereum beyond its current capacity.

Fuel is remote first and globally distributed, with English as our primary language for communication. We are looking for self-starters who are excited about working in a fast-paced startup environment. We do not require contributors to live in specific time zones, but much of the team lives and works in the European and US time zones. Contributors should endeavour to make themselves available as needed for scheduled team and company events.

Responsibilities

• Partnership Development: Identify, initiate, and nurture strategic partnerships with key players in the DeFi space, including protocols, platforms, and liquidity providers.
• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the DeFi landscape, providing insights for business strategy.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
• Ecosystem Engagement: Work with DeFi DAO’s in the space to author proposals and follow through with integration and larger internal team alignment 
• Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetups, establishing a strong presence in the DeFi community.

Requirements

• Proven experience in business development within the DeFi sector, with a track record of successful partnerships.
• Deep understanding of DeFi protocols, blockchain technology, and the broader crypto ecosystem.
• Strong ability to understand and analyse tokenomic designs and identify risks and related mitigation
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with partners, clients, and internal teams effectively.
• Identify overall project risks and benefits, team due diligence/track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or finance
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a DeFi project or related business development field.
• Familiarity with smart contract platforms, blockchain networks, and tokenomics.
• Plus points for crypto trading experience
