Developer Advocacy Lead, Web3

Magic is an early stage, fast-growing challenger to transform the antiquated user identity space by eliminating the need for passwords, with backing from top investors such as Tiger Global, Northzone, Lightspeed Ventures, SV Angel, Social Capital, Balaji Srinivasan, Ryan Hoover, Alexis Ohanian, and Naval Ravikant. We’re looking for an exceptional new team member to own Developer Advocacy initiatives and help scale Magic into a household name for developers worldwide.

We are seeking team members who are not afraid to push beyond the status quo and create the simplest, most secure, and most long-term sustainable identity solution for app developers and end-users.

You will help Web3 developers understand, appreciate, and succeed in using Magic. You will partner with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Customer Success teams to grow the Magic developer community and increase developer adoption of Magic products. This position is an exciting opportunity to fuel our growth in the Web3 space.

• Drive adoption of Magic and demo its value in our community (Discord, Twitter, etc.) and the broader Web3 community online.
• Evangelize Magic’s products in person and online by presenting at Web3 conferences: get invited to talks, build relevant materials end-to-end.
• Create compelling content including demos, tutorials, guides, blog posts, videos, etc. that help developers understand and use Magic more effectively, helping improve the developer experience and funnel conversion.
• Work closely with the Product and Developer Experience teams to understand developers’ needs, goals, and pain points.
• Influence product direction by gathering feedback and insights from our developer community and help prioritize developer requests.
• Be a welcoming presence on Discord, in community calls, at events, etc. responding to questions in a timely way to help accelerate growth and engagement in the Magic community.
• Foster a friendly and supportive environment in our communications with potential and existing collaborators.
• Plan, host or facilitate developer events.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant technical and/or product marketing experience; 1+ year of Web3 developer community management experience.
• Empathy and motivation to help Web3 developers be successful with Magic.
• Passion and understanding of the Web3 and dApp development landscape.
• Experience representing developer needs, including gathering feedback, sentiment, and explaining pain points.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills — you’re able to communicate technical concepts simply and elegantly.
• Community-first attitude that lets you work with other community members who want to assist in advocating for and supporting the Magic community.
• Growth mindset and bias for action, with the ability to flex in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Initiative to solve open-ended problems.

Nice to have

• Strong existing presence in the Web3 community.
• Having software development experience is a big plus.
• Experience writing documentation, developer content.
• Experience with blockchain and dApp development tools and workflows.
• Links to your blog or your profile in online communities like GitHub, Twitter.
