Web3 Director, Compliance Risk Management

Responsibilities



  • Keep the BSA/AML Officer, Senior Compliance management, and enterprise wide stakeholders, informed of emerging risks, regulations and requirements affecting the program;
  • Assist in creating BSA/AML related risk assessment framework and execution;
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulatory changes or new regulatory requirements and scope compliance impact requirements to ensure timely implementation, as needed;
  • Cross functional collaboration with the other Compliance and business teams on emerging regulations;
  • Guide and oversee a risk based client periodic review process over first line or compliance operational staff;
  • Work with QA team(s) and Internal Audit team(s) in creating framework for BSA/AML related monitoring, metrics and reporting;
  • Oversee audit, regulator, and due diligence response requests;
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues within, and outside, the Compliance team; and
  • Build out training functions to meet emerging requirements in the digital currency space.


Requirements



  • 10+ years of prior experience in either managing, designing, and implementing general compliance and/or BSA/AML related program functions for a financial institution, preferably with digital assets and/or fintech experience. A focus in client periodic review and risk assessment functions is a strong plus;
  • Detailed knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions risks and regulations (e.g., BSA, 4MLD, FinCEN CDD Rule, OFAC Sanctions, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.) a strong knowledge of Regulatory Compliance, Consumer Compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption or anti-boycott regulations is a plus;
  • Strong leadership, relationship management skills, and project management experience;
  • BA/BS or equivalent degree required; graduate/vocational training preferred;
  • Exceptional analytical skills;
  • Strong communication skills and presence;
  • Work in a cross-functional and matrixed environment;
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail;
  • Prior experience at a FinTech is a plus; and
  • Knowledge of the cryptocurrency industry.
