Web3 Director, Financial Crime Center (Bulgaria)

We’re looking for a Director of the Crypto.com Financial Crime Center in Sofia, Bulgaria to join our growing Compliance Organization. In this position you will be responsible for leading the Financial Crime Prevention departments that include but are not limited to Customer Monitoring and Due Diligence. You will collaborate closely with senior management and regional MLROs to understand trends, themes and typologies and ensure that we are managing those risks effectively.

• You have a significant Financial Crime / Transaction Monitoring experience;
• You have a track record of scaling teams in a high growth business;
• You have experience in banking, FinTech or technology-driven regulated institution;
• You are passionate about fighting financial crime with great knowledge of financial crime risks;
• You are highly data driven, comfortable setting goals and KPIs, forecasting and planning;
• You have a automation mindset and can work with tech solutions to achieve process efficiency;
• You are able to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operations perspective;
• You are comfortable with change, ambiguity, conflict, and dealing with multiple senior stakeholders;

Other desirable skills for this role:

• You have built monitoring teams that have seen rapid growth;
• You have worked with multiple third-party monitoring solutions / or built in-house ones;
• You drive results through leadership, people, communication and influence;
• You've worked with product teams on efficiency and scaling of manual work leading complex operational and strategic cross-functional initiatives;
• You possess leadership skills with a track record of recruiting and developing with top talent;
• You are highly organised, and process / people orientated;

Your responsibilities:

• Work with global teams to ensure that Monitoring and Due Diligence procedures capture all the ever changing regulatory requirements;

• Ensure we deliver the highest level of service to our customers, whilst balancing this with managing our financial crime risk;
• Implement and maintaining SLAs as well as oversee individual and team KPIs and OKRs;
• Manage the teams, work, and all operational aspects of managing a large department;
• Ensure that transaction monitoring teams are conducting in-depth analysis and investigation of all alerts;
• Ensure that all enhanced due diligence efforts are carried out to a high standard and to strict regulatory requirements (for both business and retail customers);
• Be the monitoring, investigations and due diligence subject matter expert, providing ongoing training and continuous knowledge sharing with the team;
• Working closely with our global MLROs to ensure we meet policy and regulatory requirements;
• Review team performance, provide guidance and mentor the staff;
• Stakeholder management - produce statistics and reports for senior management;
