Web3 Director of Institutional Research

BlockFi is looking for a Director of Institutional Research to join our growing team!

About Your Team

The Institutional team at BlockFi serves a number of clients from hedge funds, market makers, and proprietary trading firms, as well as foundations, endowments, and miners. Our goal is make crypto accessible to all institutional investors, which often starts with education on the digital asset space.

BlockFi is seeking a research professional to create content for our institutional client base. The candidate should have expertise in financial content creation, and proven experience generating thought leadership about products, financial instruments, and asset classes across financial services relevant to institutional investors, financial institutions, family offices, funds, and VCs. The person in this role would also be an ambassador for the brand and franchise, and need to be comfortable presenting to large groups on crypto and digital asset infrastructure and “101” type of discussions, as well as deeper dive technical discussions.

Your Mission

The right candidate will take a data driven approach, leveraging both “TradFi” market indicators and valuation measurement, as well as on chain data that is unique to crypto assets. Being able to provide meaningful insights from both data pools for research theses will be a priority for the client base.

Responsibilities:

• Content creation across the digital asset ecosystem, from deep dive technical thought pieces on Layer 1 or DeFi protocols, to market analysis in times of volatility, publishing to our institutional client base
• Be a brand ambassador for BlockFi, represent BlockFi at conferences, events, speaking engagements.
• Partnering with stakeholders to translate complex ideas, concepts, and developments into lay speak where relevant and in a client-friendly format
• Respond to specific client enquiries in a timely manner with thoughtful consideration and if needed bespoke content

Your Expertise

• 8+ years of experience in financial services or media company covering financial services
• 1+ years of experience covering cryptocurrencies and the digital asset ecosystem
• A portfolio of relevant work for consideration
• Solid presentation and delivery skills of the company’s values, products and services

• Client obsessed, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Must have ability to multi-task across simultaneous client requests
