Engineering Director - Ledger Entreprise Solutions
As Director of Engineering for Ledger Enterprise Services (LES), you will be the tech leader of our B2B line of products. LES is a business unit composed of 6 teams of 50+ engineers responsible for building a suite of products to allow businesses to manage their keys, crypto and NFTs. With billions in transactions managed via these products and clients as Crypto.com, Farfetch or Uphold, it’s just the beginning of the journey as all businesses in the world will go from 0 digital assets to some and will need the right tools to do so.Reporting directly to the VP Engineering, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of technology for the Ledger business products (Ledger Vault, Stack etc.).
The role owns the entire development team from that business unit, from our backend services and HSMs all the way to apps on our hardware wallets and websites.
Specific missions and responsibilities:
- Define a compelling vision and strategy for the technology group across the Enterprise business at Ledger, with a supporting roadmap;
- Offer commercial insights that help to define the investment strategy and shape product prioritization;
- Provide daily direction to the enterprise technology function including team management, stakeholder engagement and being partner facing;
- Increase the speed and efficiency of development, reducing the complexity of developing and supporting multiple products globally and ensure scalability of Ledger’s platforms and services;
- Integrate different services and platforms, helping to continually broaden Ledger’s ecosystem and further refine the platform;
- Proactively participate in the acquisition, engagement and retention of senior developers;
- Manage, mentor and lead a global team (development process, planning, certifications, team’s synchronization, processes…);
- Build and manage a team of developers focused on addressing Ledger’s vision and ambition (various interactions with different R&D teams, and different technological scopes)Lead the efficient delivery for time-boxed software releases, ensuring high quality and innovative feature development;
- Support the development and training of direct reports through regular performance evaluations;
- Work with engineers to grow their technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and ensure they have the right challenges and necessary context to make use of them;
- Work closely with teams, product owners, delivery managers and other stakeholders to ensure Ledger delivers world-class promotional courses, programs and platforms
- Work with the recruiting team to attract, hire, onboard and retain diverse top talent
Requirements and qualifications
- Demonstrated success building and leading an engineering organization in a scale-up environment;
- Comfortable operating and building highly complex products that can withstand a high volume of events daily;
- Demonstrated experience developing innovative products and solutions that anticipate and meet the market needs, with respect to functionality, performance, scalability and reliability;
- A visionary leader with the ability to inspire engineering professionals to succeed in a fast changing and highly competitive market, keeping them focused on the breakthrough strategies and tactics to best leverage the resources of a growing company;
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and scaling cloud platforms which support multiple vertically integrated applications through the use of APIs, data/analytics and developer tools;
- Comfortable in dealing with change and uncertainty during the software development lifecycle;
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience developing and growing a team, with demonstrable leadership experience of a team of engineers.
- Having a strong interest in cryptocurrencies and wishing to work with blockchain technology.
