Heretic Ventures has an immediate opening for an experienced Executive Assistant to provide support to our Managing Partner Mariam Naficy and be the on-site manager for our headquarters in San Francisco, CA. This candidate will be a go-getter, detail hound and strong communicator who is looking for an opportunity for a broad role with excellent mentoring and growth opportunities.  S(he) will be a strong problem-solver who embraces challenge and operates well with ambiguity, given complex calendaring, fast pace, and complex tasks across the studio. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and serve as a key point of contact for Mariam to external partners, constituents and press.
Heretic Ventures is a San Francisco-based venture studio ideating and launching new businesses in the creator economy, including those that capitalize on blockchain / crypto technology. Heretic is run by Managing Partner Mariam Naficy, who founded and built the pioneering internet companies Minted and Eve.com.  Heretic is backed by household names in Silicon Valley (investors and entrepreneurs), who act as the studio’s advisors both in selecting and in advising companies.This is a San Francisco, CA based position that will require 3-day-per-week on-site presence at our headquarters, located in the Presidio in San Francisco. 

Responsibilities include:

    • Manage a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Managing Partner, such as maintaining and scheduling a calendar of meetings, appointments, and travel.  Calendar will have to be maintained across Partner’s various commitments (Heretic, external board seats, and personal).  Book travel arrangements for Partner and for the rest of the team.
    • Create a delightful studio office experience, including food, equipment, supplies, access, and regular cleaning.  Will be a key part of planning the group’s potential move to a larger office in the Presidio.
    • Coordinate the smooth running of information technology with an outside vendor, allowing for ease of scheduling meetings, communication, and access to information.
    • Coordinate and plan the logistics of studio & venture team meetings, external investor meetings, and off-sites.
    • Send out non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) upon request
    • Assist the studio in both recruiting and running various research projects (e.g., recruiting participants for and organizing consumer research studies).Take notes at key meetings and distribute and keep organized.
    • Aid in the organization of the studio’s digital file repositories through Google Drive and other tools.

Minimum qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience providing direct administrative support to 1 or more C-level executives and 1+ years of facilities management preferred
    • Inclined towards using personal technology tools and very comfortable with researching and finding technology-based efficiency and productivity solutions
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience in Google Suite, Slack, Notion and other key office applications
    • Ability to both collaborate and work independently on projects from conception to completion
    • Must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of detail-oriented activities and confidential matters with discretion
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a small team to drive maximum results
    • Hyper-organized, able to prioritize, and balance proactive & reactive work
