About the role:

The Global Markets Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing the compliance function for the various market offerings made available globally, including the spot exchange order book, the over the counter desk or the derivatives trading offerings. The role oversees the effective implementation of the internal compliance policies and procedures, coordinates, manages, and monitors the AML and CTF Compliance Program, and ensures ongoing compliance with the applicable AML rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct compliance program and product risk assessments including evaluating and directing processes to identify regulatory compliance risks and documenting recommended mitigation strategies;
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and standards with emphasis on the following (but not limited to):
  • Maintenance of relevant licenses and registrations
  • Client categorization
  • AML/CFT/client suitability of institutional investors and accredited investors
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Client inducements and other forms of remuneration
  • Dissemination of research
  • Personal Account Dealing
  • Order handling, execution, allocation, and recording (Client Execution and institutional dealing)
  • Prohibited Market Conduct and Insider Trading
  • Maintenance of Registers such as the Outsourcing Register
  • Data protection and professional confidentiality
  • Training and education of staff
• Coordinate regulatory examinations, partner reviews and internal audits;
• Identify areas of non-compliance or partial compliance and prepares and implements an action plan accordingly;
• Monitor and conduct independent review of staff activities according to regulations and internal policies, and recommend solutions to management in case of any breaches.
• Update and develop compliance manuals and other documentation to ensure that they reflect applicable regulatory guidelines, best practices, and internal standards.
• Prepare reports for the various Board of Directors as applicable on a periodic basis and ensure the Boards are kept fully informed.

• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification a must, JD a plus.
• Prior experience working across the table from financial services regulators, representing a company.
• Proven leader of large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience conducting presentations in large groups and developing senior level board reporting.
• Understanding of cryptocurrencies or a strong interest in learning.
• Strong, effective organizational skills with a focus on producing detailed high quality output.
• Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
• A self-starter who is able to work independently and exhibits strong passion for financial innovation.
