We have a hybrid team across San Francisco and remote locations. The Head of Engineering position is an in-person role in San Francisco’s financial district.
As Head of Engineering, you will…
Oversee the engineering function at Caldera to build useful, fast, scalable product
Have ownership over growing the engineering team from the ground up, be responsible for hiring and evaluating candidates, and the engineering recruiting funnel
Be an active voice in product discussions, and help translate product priorities to engineering priorities.
Be a key member of the leadership team, and work closely with the co-founders and heads of other departments
Help produce clearer engineering levels and growth paths, and mentor other engineers

Have managed and built high-performing engineering teams in the past
Have keen intuition at system design, technical architecture, planning projects, and developing internal processes
Have hired top-tier talent before. You know how to evaluate and sell the company to engineering talent, and run a tight engineering recruitment process
Get energy from helping others succeed
Can make decisions quickly under uncertainty, and can communicate decisions clearly and respectfully to get all members of the team rowing in the same direction
Aren’t afraid to ask tough or deep questions
Possess strong experience and knowledge of the crypto space, or a strong curiosity and demonstrated interest to learn
