Head of Treasury and Cash Management

We are looking for senior operations professionals to help manage the growth of our industry leading exchange platforms. Liquid’s place in the block-chain based economy is growing quickly and your role will be to track, report, and reconcile assets - both crypto and fiat for reporting to senior management. You must be comfortable with doing a project management role in the development of the Liquid post execution infrastructure able to work with technologists to define and test platforms.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the front to back delivery of efficient operational processes.
• Ensure that day to day operational business operates in line with agreed SLAs
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations in the jurisdictions supported
• Ensure internal and external expectations are met with respect to the role of the function as a second line of defense
• Ensure a culture of escalation and a control mindset including promotion of and adherence to the culture and ethics standards
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and risk reduction through process improvements and automation, including the use of innovative new technologies such as Big data/ Robotics/ machine learning etc
• Work with counterparts across the firm, including legal and compliance, to streamline the front to back client on-boarding process to ensure that all aspects of reference data are collected and represented in the firm's systems in a complete, accurate and timely manner, the client's experience is optimized and the firm can meet its regulatory obligations
• Identify further opportunities for process re-engineering to reduce costs and improve efficiencies and control
• Partner closely with the Chief Operations Officer to develop and support the delivery of the Firm's business strategy
• Be able to investigate transactions and reconcile cash flows data, exception management.
• Establish, review, maintain funding rails.
• Ensure inventory levels for each of Liquid’s product lines to meet service levels.
• Calculate & Reviewing Crypto Balances and Inventory and Macro level FX Exposures and rebalance accordingly.

Skills & Experience

• 4 - 6 years experience in operations, controlling, or risk management related role in an investment bank or buy side asset manager with domain knowledge of derivatives, trade reconciliations, cash reconciliations, balance break resolution, payment management, financial reporting and control functions
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work reciprocally to build a sense of shared purpose, influence others and gain credibility with a broad senior partner group
• Proven people management skills to ensure teams are appropriately structured and resourced to deliver optimum results coupled with the ability to attract, retain and develop the best diverse talent.
• Good judgement and decision-making combined with strong principles of good conduct and ethical behavior
• Consistent track record of leading and motivating change in a dedicated manner
• Control mindset with understanding of risks inherent in processes and how to mitigate them
• Knowledge of cash and crypto settlements, payment processing back end to front end.
• Understanding of the regulatory landscape within which the role operates
• Experience with SQL, MS Office, VBA
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency
• Experience with client service
• CFA and or MBA a major plus but not required.
• Passion for blockchain and cryptocurrency.
• Willingness to push themselves hard and learn as they go.
