Role Overview
The Quantitative Data Engineer will build and maintain the core P&L, risk, and accounting systems that enable real-time and historical analysis of firm-wide trading activity across both centralised and decentralised venues.
As the firm’s data footprint expands, this person will help manage the processing, transformation, and delivery of data to support decision-making across the business. This includes providing accurate and timely data to trading, business development, and leadership teams.
In addition, the role will involve supporting research and trading initiatives by developing the infrastructure, datasets, and tools necessary for backtesting and simulation of new quantitative strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Core Analytics Systems – Develop and maintain real-time P&L, risk, and accounting capabilities across trading activities.
- Design and Operate Data Pipelines – Ingest, clean, and structure raw trading, position, and market data into analysis-ready datasets.
- Deliver Actionable Insights – Create dashboards, reports, and alerts for key stakeholders across the business.
- Enable Backtesting & Research – Support researchers and traders by providing datasets, compute environments, and tools for simulations and historical analysis.
- Collaborate on End-to-End Projects – Translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver production-ready outcomes.
- Contribute to Infrastructure Improvements – Work with colleagues to enhance data architecture, workflows, and tools for improved performance and reliability.
- 3+ years of experience in a quantitative, data engineering, or analytics-heavy trading or technology environment, ideally with Python.
- Strong ability to design scalable data systems and make large datasets useful for a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience creating analytics solutions through dashboards, data visualisation, and reporting.
- Excellent SQL skills; familiarity with tools such as Airflow and modern data warehouses (e.g. Postgres, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Experience designing environments to support backtesting and simulation.
- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with complex, quantitative trading data.
- (Bonus) Prior experience in crypto trading, DeFi, or on-chain data environments.
