Job Description & Responsibilities: We are seeking a Capital Markets subject matter expert to join our Market Development & Strategy team, to help us build the new open financial market. Within R3, you will serve as the subject matter expert for the current and future state of capital markets, in particular as it relates to financial market infrastructure and asset lifecycle management. You will help to develop an overall strategy that defines new growth initiatives, and you will work closely with functional teams across R3 to deliver on these initiatives, ensuring every step of the way that R3 and its ecosystem understand and are aligned behind the why and how of your chosen strategy. In this role, you will engender commitment to clear strategic plans, balance strategy formulation and execution, exert influence appropriately, nd work closely with internal stakeholders (Product, Sales, Government Relations and other teams) to execute on the strategy. The ultimate measure of your success is commercial: the adoption of R3’s products and services and the overall sustainable revenue growth and defensible market share for the company. Strategy
· Help define and communicate a capital markets ecosystem development strategy for R3: o Create a vision, long term definition of success, and outline the steps required to reach the vision. o Bring the perspective of your market to internal teams on a regular basis; represent their views, requirements, and experience throughout the organization. o Orchestrating support for capital markets opportunities, ensuring seamless engagement with R3 teams and R3 partners to drive success in the market. o Communicate strategy effectively and consistently throughout the company and to the market at large o Be the internal subject matter expert for the capital markets focused use cases being executed by R3 and our ecosystem. Internal Alignment and Execution · Drive cross-functional business outcomes for larger strategic opportunities and initiatives · Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progression towards strategic goals; analyse those metrics to continually drive performance · Support the CSO in identifying key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities · Create and contribute to canonical use cases for R3’s platforms and products within capital markets · Develop materials that allow R3 to articulate the value proposition of its product set to a capital markets audience, in collaboration with Product Marketing. · Represent validated client requirements to R3 Product Management and act as the advocate in R3 for the needs of your segment. External Influence and Market Development · Work across the R3 team to develop and win capital markets opportunities that lead to revenue growth, market expansion and adoption for R3’s products and services. This includes: o Source and cultivate relationships with key capital markets partners. o In collaboration with Sales, identify, prioritize, and develop specific capital markets opportunities and alliances that result in revenue growth, market expansion and adoption. o Assist in completing proposals and presentations for a variety of capital markets prospects and customers. · Act as a trusted advisor on market-level change to top tier FI accounts · Monitor and analyse our external environment (market dynamics, market share changes, competitive pressures, regulatory landscape) to derive implications and actions for the business · Be a leader in industry conversations through blog postings, external presentations and related industry groups. · Represent R3 in prioritized industry and standards groups, making sure to bring R3’s message to those groups. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
· 5+ years of relevant work experience within a top tier Financial Services software company, market infrastructure firm or financial institution · 3+ years in a leadership role within your institution · Thorough understanding of the capital markets ecosystem and business process flows · Good understanding of blockchain/distributed ledger technology · Strong existing relationships with leading capital markets participant firms, also including SIs, ISVs, FMIs
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience preparing/presenting complex materials to senior management · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Excellent organizational and analytical skills with some technical abilities · Experience working across multiple countries and cultures · Experience driving complex projects
