About the role

This role focuses on our product strategy decision making process for the Vertical Applications group, which creates new products across all verticals (consumer, institution, enterprise, protocols and DAOs, and developers, with an eye towards improving user experience with services that are monetizable. The goal of this role is to lead “how we make decisions” and help us make better decisions in a better way: more analytic and systematic — for more comprehensive, faster and more accurate decisions. We have an existing OKR planning process, and want to ensure a user-focused, continuous discovery, decision-making framework and associated planning processes — using Amazon “Working Backwards” and PR/FAQ frameworks as a model). This role will work directly with Ops and Data leads to ensure we are defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling outcomes.

Leading means:

  • managing: working with Ops, orchestrating the existing strategic decision making process for all Direct End User product lines and with product leadership and product teams (from company to product team OKRs). Maintain a continuous improvement and transformation backlog for product strategy. Own delivery of quarterly / annual business strategy and product plans, by coordinating, collecting, synthesizing, and packaging.
  • Improving: Ensure our organization and teams have an end to end continuous discovery decision making process for quarterly and yearly product strategy that is logical, systematic, and scalable. This means each layer has standards, a schedule with time, and guidance on how to 1) analyze outcomes for the quarter and year; 2) help define and prioritize — problems, risks, goals, resource needs, initiatives, and target outcomes for the next quarter and year as needed 3) continuously work to improve learning via feedback loops for teams on their products and users.

What you’ll do:

  • Define: Ensure we document how we make product strategy decisions from 1) strategy and goals to objectives and key results, and 2) product initiative and prioritization, and 3) input / output / North Star metrics, 4) and idea to launch — development stages for continuous discovery and learning.
  • Operate and Maintain: lead the process of how we define quarterly and yearly goals, objectives, key results, product initiatives, input / output / North Star metrics. Define, monitor, and report on top problems and top risks. Define transformation work. Track work and ensure reporting. Deliver quarterly and yearly strategy package.
  • Analyze: how we make decisions for our products. identify problems, and opportunities / solutions to improve. Maintain retro or other mechanisms for continuous improvement backlog.
  • Design: create documentation, service maps, frameworks, scoring, etc.; prototype or test solutions with internal users and iterate.
  • Implement: roll out templates, standards, frameworks, processes, and other changes for dept, dept wide, or team level planning
  • Special projects and initiatives: may include activities such as defining and designing a growth team; an end-to end experimentation process; a prioritization framework; analytic process stages; continuous discovery stages; requirements for growth dashboards with standard metrics, reporting, and chart display; orchestrating goal/theme initiatives to address top risks and problems.
