“You’re so money and you don’t even know it,” a quote from Vince Vaughn from the film, Swingers, most aptly describes many amazing companies out there that are doing big things and do it in way that would make working there awesome, but they just don’t know how to show it and attract the right people to join them on their mission.
We at VSC see this everyday, cutting-edge innovation, inclusive leadership, and creative work done by our companies. However the nature of their early-stage, startup existence, coupled with their own under-resourced communications means they are stuck in a bit of a conundrum. They don’t have the time to tell people how great it is to work there and thus can’t hire people quickly enough to then help them grow fast enough, so their growth actually stunts.
Enter VSC; we are taking our 19 years of comms expertise and applying it to the talent function to help startups tell their story and connect with the right people for the job.
WHO YOU ARE
You're a prose stylist who can flex your voice in multiple registers depending on the medium and occasion. Like us, you're passionate about building brands that put a premium on communicating effectively with talent at any part of the journey.
You are an experienced writer that has helped grow culture-defining brands with smart, creative and effective copy.
- A strong writer - your impeccable writing abilities exude a strong point of view and requires minimal editing.
- A story teller - you dream up courageous ideas that break the Internet and obsessively mine cultural insights to incorporate into creative deliverables for our brands
- A brand curator - you can internalize a brand’s voice and positioning and find novel and effective ways to express it to different audience
- A marketer - you know how to amplify small employee moments across the most effective channels with punchy copy
- A multi-tasker - you can toggle between concepting/writing anything from mission, value, job descriptions, internal brands campaigns, blogs, social media posts, and everything in between!

WHAT YOU’LL DO EVERY DAY
- Write and concept - a lot! You produce well-researched, thoughtful, valuable content that inspires, educates, guides, and invokes action using jargon-free terms
- Help our companies develop and execute an employer branding program and strategy that connects them to the most relevant talent that matches needs.
- Plan for periodic content creation and distribution as it relates to employer branding that crosses over key platforms such as newsletters, social media, and hiring sites.
- Collaborate with PR teams and ensure that the employer branding programs are aligned with larger brand strategies.
- Manage clients’ employer review sites (Blind, Glassdoor, Indeed) and strategize ways to increase reviews, prioritize actions and respond as appropriate
