About the Team:
The Risk function at Okcoin is responsible for the overall risk and fraud prevention at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk. We’re also deeply committed to moving the needle on risk standards for the crypto industry, building products in a compliant way, and protecting the company from financial, regulatory, and reputational risks. Our team consists of seasoned risk professionals who are based across our global offices.
About the Opportunity
This is a highly-impactful role at one of the fastest-growing global cryptocurrency exchanges headquartered in San Francisco, CA. The Risk Analyst is responsible for monitoring, researching and detecting suspicious activity from different payment channels such as wire, ACH, card fraud, ApplePay, crypto, P2P e.t.c. The right candidate has prior experience working with a financial institution or FinTech company, with strong risk investigation experience, practical knowledge of current Visa and MasterCard rules and regulations, and familiarity with 3Ds/3Ds2 protocols. Crypto/Blockchain transaction analysis experience would be a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skill.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Analyse customer behavioral pattern/transactions to detect fraudulent activities such as account takeover, friendly fraud, identity theft, stolen financials, and other fraud schemes prevalent in payment and crypto fraud;
- Analyse cryptocurrency trading to detect abnormal trading patterns that can lead to loss and other financial risks to the company;
- Create regular reports and educate Risk Management leaders and other stakeholders on fraud trends, ACH returns and card chargebacks and how they evolve;
- Monitor alert queues to detect fraud attacks for immediate remediation actions;
- Provide prompt feedback to Risk Rules, Risk Policy, and Strategy team on trends and patterns observed, with recommendations on strategies to improve detection capability, and combat fraud/losses;
- Prepare periodic reports on fraud statistics, fraud trends, and ongoing fraud cases to senior management.
What We Look For In You:
- 5+ years of relevant fraud investigation experience in the financial services / eCommerce / Fintech industry
- 5+ years of in payment risk management in day-to-day operations including reporting, alerting and case management;
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Advanced Excel skills, and the ability to write and execute SQL/Python;
- Strong ability to analyze large data to detect fraud patterns;
- Ability to learn new technology tools quickly;
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data;
- Quantitative and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to understand new analytical concepts;
- Flexibility to run 24/7 shift rotation.
Nice to Haves:
- Crypto/Blockchain transaction analysis experience;
- Relevant Fraud certifications e.g. Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Fluency in a second language (Spanish, French, etc.).
