Ripple is hiring a
Web3 VP of Finance/Product Integration

Compensation: $81k - $90k estimated

Location: CA San Francisco, California, United States

Ripple is hiring an experienced Vice President of Product Finance. This new role will provide a “bridge” between the finance team and product/engineering group as Ripple develops new payment products and scales for growth. You understand the product and technology and have an opinion about what the implementation will look like. This leader will need to be “hands on” in owning all of the details of implementation, while also able to think strategically to identify and prioritize opportunities as well as build out and oversee a team.

Reporting to the Ripple CFO, you will partner closely with finance, product and engineering to design and implement our crypto and fiat payment solutions. You will prioritize business needs, define requirements with input from the finance team, and translate those requirements for implementation by our engineering team. You will apply best practices in project management, finance process improvement, and technology implementation (both homegrown and 3rd party) across all of finance. Additionally, you will understand the external finance vendor landscape, understanding product offerings and key points of integration with banks, exchanges and software providers. You will be responsible for building out a team to support the needs of finance and the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with product leaders on new initiatives to understand objectives, customer experience, and work together to identify integrations/points of overlap with finance.
  • Lead the finance team in requirements definition by having a deep and clear understanding of the technology, then translate the finance team’s needs into scalable and cost-effective workflows.
  • Partner across finance (Tax, Treasury, Revenue Operations, Reporting, FP&A, etc) to ensure new products and enhancements are integrated in a timely and consistent way.
  • Identify inefficiencies in current systems and processes within finance; recommend and implement solutions.
  • Manage key stakeholders to escalate potential risks/issues and assist in development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Understand vendor landscape as it relates to current and future systems and integrations (e.g., Sage/Intacct, Coupa, partner banks, crypto exchanges, etc.), building relationships with 3rd parties and advising on architecture of the overall system.
  • Over time, build a team to support product expansion and project management needs.
  • Provide project management support for large scale projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years experience in product or project management, fintech and start up related experience preferred.
  • Build for scale mindset: you approach problems with an eye to scale and automation, and keep up with developments in tech to continuously improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. You understand applications of machine learning, and can work with our data scientists to frame and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills: you can translate the needs of support functions (like finance) to product requirements, simplifying concepts so they can be clearly understood by both sides.
  • Player and coach: you can roll up your sleeves to understand the details for complex projects, and also build and manage a team.
  • Forward thinking: you have an eye for what is working and what isn’t, and you can anticipate problems as they are emerging to escalate and/or mitigate the impact.
  • Project management expertise: you have experience project managing and a successful track record identifying scope, setting expectations and milestones, aligning others and executing.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • The chance to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with experienced industry leaders
  • A learning environment where you can dive deep into the latest technologies and make an impact
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • 100% paid medical and dental and 95% paid vision insurance for employees starting on your first day
  • 401k (with match), commuter benefits
  • Industry-leading parental leave policies
  • Generous wellness reimbursement and weekly onsite programs
  • Flexible vacation policy - work with your manager to take time off when you need it
  • Employee giving match
  • Modern office in San Francisco’s Financial District
  • Fully-stocked kitchen with organic snacks, beverages, and coffee drinks
  • Weekly company meeting - ask me anything >
  • Team outings to sports games, happy hours, game nights and more!
