ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Ecosystem Development will be responsible for setting the strategy for and executing on the development of the Algorand ecosystem across all verticals, with the fundamental goals of driving dApp activities and associated TVL to Algorand so that Algorand soon takes its rightful place as the prominent Layer One blockchain on which to build and thrive.

This role reports to the CEO.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a strategy to drive the growth of the Algorand ecosystem across core verticals, including DeFi, DAOs, NFTs, Metaverse/gaming, ASAs and Stablecoins; 
• Manage vertical leads across these areas; ensure their productivity, happiness, and success;
• Partner closely with the office of the CFO to make sensible investments into the ecosystem to drive TVL, transactions, and, in some cases, financial return to the community; 
• Articulate and execute on a roadmap for integration with core ecosystem infrastructure providers;
• Partner with the CTO to ensure that the developers and entrepreneurs have what they need to succeed in the ecosystem; partner with the head of developer outreach and community to drive a virtuous circle of developer and community engagement that translates into opportunity and ecosystem growth;
• Build relationships and drive business development efforts with key partners and stakeholders, in particular the entrepreneurs, investors, and developers that create the ecosystem;
• Engage in the rollout of governance and in the formulation of governance questions, as the Algorand Foundations continues to pursue a decentralized decision-making framework.
• Engage in broader strategic decision-making at the Foundation, as a member of the senior management team.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience with business development strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment with ambitious business development goals; significant experience in identifying; pursuing; and closing commercially complex partnerships;
• “Crypto native” player with an understanding of the core building blocks of a vibrant crypto ecosystem; subject matter expertise in one or more of the following core web3 verticals: DeFi, DAOs, Metaverse/gaming, NFTs, digital assets, ASA/Stablecoins, and/or infrastructure providers; high-quality crypto network is a distinct advantage;
• Ability to articulate an investment strategy and present investment opportunities with financial and non-financial ROIs; direct investment experience strongly preferred;
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology and the requirements of a successful Layer One protocol; technical ability is a plus;
• Experience managing teams and defining performance objectives and metrics in an entrepreneurial environment with high performance expectations;
• No fear of complexity and ability to work in close partnership with the CFO and the CTO etc. to “deliver the firm” across the ecosystem; 
• First-class communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences;
• Degree in any discipline
