Pixelynx is a new music and gaming venture that has been launched by deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. We are building a music metaverse that makes it easy for any artist, label, or venue to launch their own interactive experiences and monetise them through Digital Collectables (NFTs).
The Head of Analytics leads the data analytics department and oversees the development of all systems needed for data collection, analysis, reporting, and business intelligence. In this role, the Head of Analytics aids the business in understanding its own health, finding growth levers, and identifying opportunities for optimization.
Employees will be working remotely.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities related to data collection, analytics, and warehousing.
- Work with technical leadership to ensure that there is a clear, concise and complete technical design for all services, APIs, and client modules related to data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
- Act as a leader in ensuring the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of all technical components of the analytics pipeline.
- Review and approve engineering work performed by co-development partners.
- Recruit, train, and oversee internal data analytics staff.
- Lead in the creation of high quality analyses for all functions of the business and in the definition of metrics that track the business’s performance at different fronts.
- Assist other departments and business units in leveraging analytics to uncover opportunities for optimization and growth.
- Champion the use of data in making business decisions across the organisation.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or any other related field.
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 3 years experience as a technical lead managing other engineers
- At least 2 years experience with cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Expertise in backend technologies such as Java, Spring, Kubernetes, Docker
- Prior experience building backend services for data collection and analytics
- Experience managing a team of data professionals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Music, Gaming, and/or Blockchain and NFTs considered a plus
