We are seeking someone who is passionate about the blockchain & the digital assets industry, an amazing team player that is humble and compassionate, loves to learn and grow, and finds themselves reading and researching blockchain, digital assets / the crypto industry, and web3 in their spare time. As the Senior Counsel (Crypto) you will help design and execute on our crypto legal strategy, navigate the crypto regulatory landscape, and be a critical voice in our business and product strategy. This role will be based in the US, work hand-in-hand with the Blockchain team, and report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

As the Crypto Attorney you will…

  • Develop Tribal’s holistic crypto legal strategy, working with external experts, and provide crypto legal advice to support product development.
  • Stay updated on crypto regulatory and policy developments, and continually evaluate legal risks and needs.
  • Represent Tribal’s Crypto team in legal discussions with external parties.
  • Manage day-to-day crypto legal operations, including product terms, hiring, vendor agreements, investment documents, and government filings.
  • Work across Legal, Compliance, and Product stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations.
  • Provide practical in-depth thought leadership on legal issues and risks, complex products and company policies in a risk-tolerant, but compliance-oriented environment, including the impact on the company's long-term strategy to business, compliance, and legal audiences.
  • Anticipate, prepare for, and operationalize towards new business goals and product requirements, including new product offerings, country-specific launches, and changing regulatory concerns and controls.
  • Negotiate, draft, review, and update internal documents (e.g., customer agreements, terms and conditions, regulatory disclosures, policies and procedures and processes, etc.), and contracts and agreements with third parties, including financial partners, blockchain networks, vendors, and service providers.
  • Review multi-medium advertising materials for compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations in multiple markets, recommend best practices, and provide feedback and guidance to Tribe members.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of experience concentrating on multi-jurisdictional blockchain matters; ideally including in-house experience.
  • Experience in the crypto industry.
  • Experience in securities law and venture debt structuring.
  • You’re both an active communicator and an eager listener; you’re cool with candid feedback and see every setback as an opportunity to grow.
  • You’ve optimistic about the future and determined to get there.
  • You’re never tired of learning.
  • You want to be a pro in bleeding edge tech like DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and Web 3.0.
