Coinbase is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Data Analyst to join the legal team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting all legal data requests, working collaboratively with our legal, compliance, data science, and product teams. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to build legal data marts and will be instrumental in developing their data and engineering skill sets.The role will report to Senior Director, Associate General Counsel at Coinbase.
What You’ll Be Doing (ie. Job Duties)
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, data scientce, and product teams to fulfill all legal data requests.
  • Synthesize data learnings into insights and communicate them throughout Coinbase legal teams.
  • Conduct deep dives to help solve complex problems relating to the organization's legal operations
  • Develop and maintain legal data marts, ensuring accurate and high-quality data availability.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to aid in the comprehension and utilization of data.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain data pipelines with outstanding craftsmanship
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in legal data analysis and management.
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant for building analytic systems

What We Look For In You (ie. Job Requirements)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with other programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
  • Demonstration of our core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.

Nice To Haves
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology and the digital currency space.
  • Experience in legal data management and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

$127,075—$149,500 USD
