Web3 Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven, proactive and well-versed Accountant who is excited about helping pave the way for crypto accounting. The position offers a considerable opportunity to have a large impact within a hypergrowth and evolving organization. The Accountant will also get to learn about crypto accounting, a skill increasingly sought-after as the adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency continues to grow exponentially.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accountant will also work closely with our Senior Accountant and help bring our Accounts Payable and bookkeeping functions in-house (currently out-sourced to external providers). The Accountant will streamline payables, data collection and entry processes as well as assist with re-assessment of efficiency of Accounts Payables, Expense Management and Document Management applications currently in use. The ideal candidate is a problem solver that is excited about the opportunity to navigate the complexities of crypto accounting and help us scale.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
• Own the Accounts payable functions from end-to-end, including setting up vendors, entering bills, assigning approvers for the invoices, processing payments on a weekly basis
• Be the point of contact for all AP inquiries and questions
• Make sure all the credit card transactions are captured on a regular basis and all the recordkeeping is in place
• Import recurring revenue transactions to QBO
• Assist Sr. Accountant with GL reconciliations and prep for month end close
• Assist with setting up and keeping monthly and quarterly schedules (capital assets amortization, prepaid expenses, etc)
• Assist Sr. Accountant with Accounts receivable function: following up on customer invoices.
• Support ad-hoc projects and analysis, as needed and implement best practices over the record keeping function as Figment continues to scale
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally working in a multi-currency environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Canadian or US CPA preferred
• Experience working with Quickbooks Online and new systems integration
• Problem-solving skills, solid attention to detail
• Experience working with a heavy volume of multi-currency AP
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of US GAAP is an asset
