We are growing our compliance team! Seeking individuals with direct crypto/blockchain direct experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day administrative, operational and research needs of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) / compliance department
- KYC / AML - Participate in all aspects of BSA / FinCEN anti-money laundering compliance processes including:
- Client onboarding
- Customer Due Diligence (CDD) / Enhanced due Diligence (EDD)
- Sanctions screening
- Suspicious activity monitoring and on-chain investigations using tools such as Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic, Dune and token research tools (e.g. - Nansen, Messari)
- FinCEN reporting including suspicious activity reports (SAR), Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and other reporting as needed
- Dealing directly with regulatory bodies and responding to law enforcement subpoenas
- Customer management: Retail customer interaction, customer issue tracking, relationship management and customer support
- Licensing: Support international and US licensing efforts including Money Services Business (MSB) and Money Transmitter License (MTL). Experience with the NMLS system and NYDFS a plus.
- Marketing review: Conduct compliance focused review of marketing materials and social media content
- Information technology / cybersecurity: Work cross-functionally with the information technology department to ensure effective compliance controls.
- Support compliance calendar management, internal audit. training, surveillance, reporting, and internal control testing, corporate compliance, privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA), policy management
- Willingness to travel as required
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of the travel rule, US and EU regulatory frameworks including MiCA
- Cryptocurrency operations and DeFi experience
- Additional fluency in European languages (e.g. - German, French, Spanish, Dutch)
- Knowledge of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and broker-dealer compliance
- Prior experience at a crypto exchange or startup crypto project
What You Bring:
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, law or related fields. Advanced degrees (JD, MBA) will also be considered.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and certifications with on-chain investigation tools (i.e. – Chainalysis) are advantageous.
Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 – 4 years in compliance, legal, risk management, or regulatory roles within cryptocurrency, banking, fintech, or financial services.

- Experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively across various teams, including Finance, Operations, Information Technology and with external vendors.
- An ability to work pro-actively identify, prioritize and address multiple issues simultaneously.
