Press Labs Inc. is building the Press Blockchain, a decentralized platform for journalism that enables transparent news publishing, verification, and monetization through blockchain technology. As we prepare for our first fundraising round, we seek a Compliance Officer with strong crypto and Web3 experience to establish a regulatory framework for our tokenized media ecosystem.

This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage Web3 company in a foundational legal and compliance role. With proven leadership and execution, the right candidate can grow into our future Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).

Role Overview

As our Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring Press Labs Inc. meets regulatory requirements for crypto, Web3, tokenomics, and decentralized publishing. You will play a key role in our fundraising strategy, token compliance, and risk management, laying the groundwork for long-term regulatory success.

This role starts with a percentage of our first fundraising round as equity-based compensation and transitions into a $100K annual salary once funding is secured. Over time, the right individual will have the opportunity to step into a Chief Compliance Officer role.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Strategy: Develop and oversee compliance frameworks for Press Blockchain in line with SEC, CFTC, FINCEN, GDPR, and MiCA regulations.

Token Compliance: Ensure Press Token aligns with utility token classifications while mitigating legal risks.

Fundraising Compliance: Guide the legal structure for fundraising rounds (SAFT, private sales, equity structures) to ensure regulatory compliance.

KYC/AML Policies: Design and implement identity verification and anti-money laundering protocols for blockchain participants.

Smart Contract Risk & Audits: Work with developers to ensure legally compliant and secure smart contracts for publishing and token transactions.

Privacy & Data Protection: Align decentralized publishing operations with global data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA).

DAO & Governance Compliance: Establish legal frameworks for decentralized decision-making within Press Blockchain’s governance model.

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate

3+ years of experience in crypto, fintech, or blockchain compliance (DeFi, tokenomics, fundraising, or legal advisory preferred).

Strong understanding of U.S. and global crypto regulations (SEC guidelines, token classifications, securities laws).

Experience structuring KYC/AML procedures for blockchain or fintech platforms.

Familiarity with DAO governance structures and compliance risks.

Ability to navigate Web3 privacy, data security, and decentralized content laws.

Legal or compliance certification (JD, LLM, CAMS, CFE, etc.) is a plus but not required.

Experience in a leadership role or interest in evolving into a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) role.

Compensation & Growth Path

Pre-Funding: % of first-round fundraising proceeds (equity-based).

Post-Funding: $85,000 - $120,000 annual salary.

Growth Opportunity: With proven expertise and leadership, this role can evolve into Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
