Genies is looking for a Concept Artist to join our team to create an immersive and expressive digital world for the next generation. We are looking for an assertive, motivated, creative individual to provide visual designs for avatar development as well as communicating visual feedback and guidance to external developers in order to ensure our assets are authentic and high quality.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Properly catalog all work related files according to company standards
• Provide visual feedback across all our products in the form of draw-overs, painter-overs and written notes
• Problem-solve brand and visual design challenges always working towards visual improvement of our products, characters and worlds
• Communicate and collaborate directly with internal Creative and Production Teams, as well as creative counterparts at our Licensees
• Create concept designs and sketches for characters and worlds
• Participate in creative brainstorm sessions to develop new ideas or improve existing ones
• Research and stay informed on specific brands

What You Should Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in art/design
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in games, animation, film or entertainment as an artist
• Ability to create compelling artwork and illustrations
• 2D art skills with ability to draw and illustrate characters, environments, and vehicles
• Strong understanding of forms, materials, composition, perspective, color, anatomy, and lighting
• Ability to execute various illustrative >
• Effective researcher that understands how to successfully navigate through search engines in order to discover the best reference and imagery possible
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present feedback and ideas in a clear and concise manner
• Self-starter, reliable and passionate about their work; committed to their discipline and its challenges
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop
• (BONUS) basic 3d know-how ei: blender, maya, etc
