Web3 Director of Finance and Accounting

Director of Finance and Accounting will lead the company's global finance group and reports directly to the CFO. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with the ability to manage teams with diverse skill sets in an ever-changing environment. You will have the opportunity to play an integral role in our company’s growth by building out the Finance and Accounting functions. This role will touch all financial functions including accounting, FP&A, tax, and treasury.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain executive dashboards to provide financial information & KPIs to management team
• Prepare and standardize financial reporting including month-end financials, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reports
• Develop an overall corporate budget and establish format and deliverables from department leads
• Build sophisticated in-depth financial models from scratch to enable business planning and decision-making
• Assist in the development of the cash flow forecasting model
• Set accounting policies in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, taking into consideration the objectives of the corporation
• Work with independent auditors in the preparation of annual financial statements
• Develop and maintain internal control structures to ensure that the integrity of information is maintained across the organization
• Coordinate and assist with M&A activities including evaluation of targets, due diligence, and integration
• Streamline, automate, and integrate financial systems and processes
• Coordinate tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities with assistance from outside tax advisors
• Coordinate and manage the Company's insurance program
• Establish and direct the process for transactions between international subsidiaries, liaising with legal/tax advisors as needed to ensure proper governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
• Proven leadership in a growing organization
• Effective communicator with all levels of the organization
• Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Self-starter with the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of management
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced work environment
• Control/compliance first mindset
• Experience with managing compliance with international subsidiaries
• Experience building controls and processes from the ground up

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license, MS/MBA or similar designation
• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Experience in start-up/high growth companies
• Experience with managing international tax strategies
• Passion for crypto, Defi, and/or NFTs
