Web3 Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Team Lead

Join a fast growing Compliance team focused on Know Your Customer processes (CIP/CDD/EDD). We’re looking for a technology orientated Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Team Lead. You’ll be tasked with developing the EDD team and operations within the KYC Team.

A candidate with strong knowledge and proven capability to develop and implement procedures is required.

You will collaborate with other Compliance Teams to improve processes and controls to effectively mitigate risk; create and implement procedures with scalability in mind; Create, evaluate, and update customer risk methodologies; Develop a team, and be the escalation point for EDD reviews. In this startup environment you will contribute to tool/system improvements working directly with 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholders.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development of policies and procedures for EDD
  • Operationalize the EDD program
  • Oversee EDD reviews and make determinations on EDD reviews and escalations
  • Develop team members, ensuring alignment across team members conducting EDD reviews
  • Develop, evaluate, and update (as needed) customer risk methodologies
  • Collaborate with the broader Compliance team to improve processes and controls
  • Increase quality and scalability
  • Identify potential areas of EDD compliance vulnerability

Requirements:

Experience/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years experience specifically focused on EDD
  • Must have experience developing customer risk methodologies
  • Experience and knowledge of with a wide variety of higher-risk customer types across jurisdictions
  • Experience reviewing compliance controls such as AML/Sanctions programs
  • Expert in OSINT
  • Expertise / solid knowledge of international KYC requirements, compliance regulations, and expert level understanding of risk factors

Soft Skills:

  • Tech-savvy, You can learn new tools with ease, and troubleshoot system bugs
  • Structured thinking; Ability to take ownership and problem solve
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • You thrive in a startup environment
  • Relevant industry qualifications in AML (e.g., ACAMS) preferred
  • Fluency with a second language (Nice-to-have)
  • Available to work during EMEA or US time zones
