Web3 Finance & Operations Associate - United States

Evmos is the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Hub on Cosmos and enables developers to launch apps that run smart contracts across any number of EVM and Cosmos-based blockchains. It makes that process as simple and seamless as possible by allowing developers to continue creating apps in programming languages they're already accustomed to in the Ethereum ecosystem such as Solidity or Vyper.

Evmos opens a new frontier for blockchain applications, expanding the functionality of the EVM by enabling cross-chain applications that tap the liquidity and user bases of multiple blockchain ecosystems to provide more unified experiences.

Operations at Evmos is a truly cross-functional role that reaches across multiple teams including Finance, Accounting, People Operations and Legal. Our objective or "North Star" is the alignment of our team on vision strategic intent and roadmap, and to ensure the efficient execution of daily tasks and activities across all Evmos teams.

About the role:

We're seeking a talented Finance & Operations Associate to join our dynamic Operations Team at Evmos. As a key player, you'll help drive daily operations, tackle accounting, people, and legal challenges, and support our executive team with high-velocity projects that span all functional areas of the company. This is a broad operations role with a strong focus on financial activities. It will be a good fit for someone with a strong background in accounting who is looking to get involved in the other functions of a crypto start-up.

Work in a fast-paced, agile, distributed team environment, build relationships with external vendors and suppliers, and elevate financial records with your development and maintenance expertise.

We're on the hunt for for a high-performing individual who can hit the ground running in fast-paced, agile, and dispersed work environments. With a background in FinTech, SaaS, or Strategy Consulting, this candidate knows how to bring teams together to achieve common goals. They'll take charge and set their own objectives, delivering exceptional results in this self-directed role.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of new Operations processes and initiatives, particularly in Finance and People Operations
• Forge relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and others to bring more value to Evmos
• Create your own destiny by setting strategic priorities and furthering the Evmos ecosystem
• Improve and streamline financial records and processes
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Reconcile bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
• Compute taxes and prepare tax return filings
  
  

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

• High degree of autonomy to ensure that tasks are executed efficiently and accurately
• At least 2 years of proven work experience in an accounting strategy or research firm
• Experience at a FinTech, SaaS or Strategy Consulting role
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP)
• Experience with financial and budgeting software (preferably Quickbooks)
• Have a solid understanding of Web3 and DeFi (nice to have, but not required)
• Proficient with Excel and Google Sheets
