Compensation: $175k - $225k

Our client is a leading elite boutique investment bank with a distinguished track record of advising innovative, high-growth companies and financial sponsors on complex strategic transactions. The firm is seeking an exceptional Investment Banking Associate to join its New York-based FinTech team.
This is an opportunity to work alongside senior bankers on high-profile M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates across the rapidly evolving financial technology ecosystem. The successful candidate will gain significant client exposure, responsibility, and execution experience while working with some of the sector's most dynamic companies and investors.
Sector Coverage
The team advises clients across a broad range of FinTech verticals, including:
- Payments and payment infrastructure
- Merchant acquiring and embedded payments
- Digital banking and challenger banks
- Banking technology and core banking software
- Vertical SaaS and financial software
- Lending and specialty finance platforms
- WealthTech and asset management technology
- Market infrastructure and exchange technology
- Digital assets and blockchain infrastructure
- Crypto exchanges, custody, and institutional digital asset platforms
Key Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will play an integral role across all stages of transaction execution and business development, including:
- Leading the preparation of financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials
- Developing merger models, DCF analyses, LBO models, trading comparables, and precedent transaction analyses
- Managing the day-to-day execution of live M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments
- Preparing client presentations, marketing materials, and board-level documentation
- Coordinating due diligence processes and managing data rooms
- Working closely with senior bankers, clients, legal advisers, and other transaction stakeholders
- Conducting in-depth industry and company research across the FinTech landscape
- Supporting business development initiatives and the origination of new client relationships
- Mentoring and overseeing Analysts to ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient execution
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3–5 years of investment banking experience, with M&A advisory and transaction execution expertise
- Previous experience within FinTech, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Technology, or a related sector is highly desirable
- Outstanding financial modelling and valuation skills
- Strong understanding of M&A processes and capital markets transactions
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live projects in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives and entrepreneurs
- Bachelor's degree from a leading university; advanced qualifications are advantageous but not essential
