About the role:
Based in the OKX brand creative studio, the Illustrator will create best-in-class illustrations for the growing crypto currency exchange platform OKX, part of OK Group.
To demonstrate high levels of creative expertise to create and maintain brand illustrations and a scalable illustrations library for all OKX brand and digital creative needs, covering: the Learn platform, social media, website, emails, editorial content, animations, product marketing, digital marketing, events.
Delivering modern, effective and inspiring creative illustrations for the global crypto exchange and web3 brand at all times.
Reporting into the Brand Design Director for OKX, the Illustrator will play an influential role in developing other team members, enable others to use the illustration library and will have specific responsibility for the timely delivery of illustrations for incoming project briefs and the creation of illustrations for weekly emails, daily social media creative, online content, web pages in line with agreed schedules, brand guidelines and business requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Brand illustration delivery.
●To utilize their proven illustration skills and experiences to deliver best in class creative illustrations for site, social media, email, product marketing, OKX Learn, customer communications and advertising.
●To follow and interpret creative direction to ensure that they deliver compelling and differentiating 'on brand' illustrations for daily, weekly and seasonal campaigns.
●To create a scalable, vector based illustration system and library that can be used by designers and animators across the design studio
●To find inspiring, innovative and creative ways to bring the OKX product ranges and brand to life through illustration
●To challenge and innovate within world class brand illustration.
●Specific responsibility for the day-to-day creation and timely delivery of illustrations for social posts, emails, product marketing initiatives, campaigns, web pages, editorial content images, digital advertising
●Working closely with the Brand Design Director to develop and define, differentiating and compelling communications and content.
●Support the acquisition and retention teams by delivering illustrations for digital creative campaigns to generate brand love, website traffic and improved sales revenues.
●Support the creation and delivery of illustrative content assets to meet the demands of content and marketing requirements
●Review and optimize all brand illustrations on an ongoing basis.
●Innovate and maintain up to date knowledge of competitors, brand illustrations and creative trends.
Creative Operations
●Working with the Brand Design Director to define 'creative team' processes, ensuring that they are efficient and integrated.
●To identify opportunities for continuous improvement of illustration processes.
●Working closely with the Brand Design Director, and Marketing partners, ensuring a consistent and optimized Omni-channel approach to all activity- Including, but not limited to, working closely with the Loyalty, Social Media, PR, Local Marketing and Digital Media teams that sit within the Core Marketing function.
●To maintain a record of ‘costs’ of illustration for the Design Director to help control and monitor the Brand Creative budget.
●To contribute to the definition and development of illustration >
●In conjunction with the Brand Creative Director to learn, analyze and assess results of campaigns against business objectives.
Team and Relationship Management
●To embody a positive and creative attitude at all times.
●To create a positive, supportive and innovative culture within the Brand Design team.
●To train other designers how to use the illustrations and use the library within the team to deliver all brand creative illustrations within budget, on-time and to the required standards.
●To occasionally work alongside third party suppliers of brand illustrations and freelance resources to achieve results.
●Maintain and develop strong relationships with the Marketing team, Social, Copy and PR teams and other business functions to help facilitate the OKX brand vision.
●Utilize their own experiences and unique skills to mentor and develop the team’s illustration knowledge and skills.
●Have a thorough understanding of the creation process of illustrations at scale
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
●Illustrator with qualifications in illustration, arts, graphic design.
●Relevant experience of working within a brand creative team as a senior illustrator for a global business or agency side
●Experience working within a design team as a senior illustrator for a high volume online business, delivering and maintaining high quality illustration assets and libraries
●A creative thinker and idea generator with a strong creative eye.
●Puts the brand and customer at the heart of the illustration development process.
●Ability to create and deliver to tight deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of daily, seasonal and project works.
●Experience of working with best practice creative processes and the ability to review, evaluate and improve.
●Experience of the end-to-end illustration process from concept, sketches, iterations, development and production.
●Basic understanding and familiarity of HTML and digital web design tools
●Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma
●Animation skills and experience desirable
●A passion and understanding of illustration, branding and design.
●Great team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
●Numerate.
●Some experience in managing third party agencies to deliver results
●A positive, creative and influential personality.
●Experience of working with task management tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, Trello, Google Docs etc.
