Product Foundations is a collaborative and diverse group of design, data, research, and product management experts united by our mission to build exceptional products and drive success across Luno. Our team plays a pivotal role in helping to craft the overall product strategy and delivering a compelling narrative that aligns teams across the business. By defining effective ways of working, we ensure seamless collaboration and efficiency in our product development process. Data and insights are at the core of everything we do, enabling us to make informed decisions and continuously optimise our products. As internal consultants, we support and empower other teams, providing valuable expertise to shape their product strategies. Together, we foster a culture of collaboration, driving positive interactions and innovative solutions across the company.
The role in a nutshell:
As the Product Manager in Product Foundations you will have a holistic and strategic impact on our product development process, user experience, and overall product strategy. You will be responsible for aligning product initiatives with both customer needs and business goals to maximise revenue and profitability. Your expertise in understanding different customer segments and building products and UX that cater to their specific needs will be critical in driving customer satisfaction and value. Additionally, your ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, define outcomes, and take products to market will contribute significantly to our company's growth and success. By fostering agile practices and iterative development, you will ensure that value is delivered efficiently and effectively throughout the product lifecycle.
Your mission will be:
Product Operations Excellence:
- Develop and implement streamlined processes for efficient product development and delivery.
- Oversee vendor relationships for product tooling, ensuring the best-in-class solutions are utilised.
- Collaborate with teams to define ways of working in problem and solution discovery and delivery, emphasising agile practices.
- Champion the role of continuous discovery to validate and iterate on product ideas.
- Define standards and frameworks for quantifying and prioritising initiatives based on data-driven insights and strategic objectives.
UX Research and Insights:
- Conduct in-depth user research to understand customer behaviours, pain points, and preferences.
- Translate user insights into actionable recommendations for product enhancements.
Customer and Business Value-driven Product Strategy:
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Product leadership to define product vision and goals.
- Help teams to align product development with customer needs and business objectives to drive value.
- Help to identify and prioritise market opportunities to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Assist teams to define measurable outcomes and success metrics for product initiatives.
- Help to drive strategic decision-making based on customer segmentation and needs analysis.
Agile Practices and Iterative Value Delivery:
- Take a lead role in defining Luno ways of working in Product & Technology that promote agile principles and methodologies.
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and learning from both successes and failures.
Communication and Product Storytelling:
- Drive alignment and understanding of the product strategy across the organisation.
- Craft compelling narratives to communicate the product strategy and vision.
- Develop effective product storytelling techniques to engage and inspire stakeholders.
- Act as an internal consultant, advising teams on strategic product decisions.
Research Democratisation:
- Implement systems and tools to democratise access to research findings and data.
- Empower teams to incorporate research insights into their decision-making processes.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the organisation's research capabilities.
- Advocate for a research-driven approach to product development at all levels.
A little about you:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management, Design, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in Product Operations, Product Strategy, UX Research, and Research Democratisation roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully launching and improving products.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and user-centred design processes.
- Ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable plans.
- Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about innovation, technology, and creating exceptional user experiences.
- Experience in driving revenue growth and profitability through product strategy.
