Ripple is growing rapidly and we are looking for a results-oriented and passionate Senior Software Engineer, Data to help build our data platform. This platform enables everyone in the company to make data driven strategic decisions.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated technical excellence in designing, building and delivering reliable tools and abstractions used by other engineers and data scientists. They should have a passion for the craft of software engineering and take pride in applying those skills to data challenges. They should enjoy close collaboration with business domain expertsandthrive on building broadly applicable solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Deliver a highly scalable data platform with an emphasis on resilience, observability, and agility
- Build foundational systems, services and frameworks that allow users to focus on business logic
- Develop frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality data and analysis to stakeholders
- Integrate with other Ripple products/applications for data needs
- Collaborate with Ripple’s technical operations team to leverage company wide platform for data specific challenges
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally involving data oriented applications
- Proficient in two of the following: SQL, Python, Java
- Experience building tools on cloud data services (e.g. BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Experience with modern software delivery for data applications, including infrastructure as code, testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery using tools like Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
- Familiarity with data security, management, and governance
- A collaborative coder, comfortable with Git and code reviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
