Web3 Senior Staking Engineer - Berlin / Porto (f/m/d)

Job description

We are growing our technical team for Finoa's staking services and are looking for a senior DevOps expert with deep knowledge of the cutting-edge technology upon which Web3 is built. We are looking for passionate individuals who complement and push our highly motivated team.

• You will work in a cross-functional team to scale Finoa's staking services across multiple proofs of stake blockchains.

• You will create infrastructure for new service environments with Infrastructure as a Code.

• You will set up highly reliable node services using bleeding edge software with an unpredictable roadmap.

• You will analyze blockchain protocol whitepapers together with product and business experts to derive a technical architecture for infrastructure services.

• You will foresee infrastructure security concerns and contribute to the security architecture of the infrastructure.

• You will collaborate closely with Finoa's other engineering, security, and product teams.

• You will automate processes if you do it more than twice.

• You will build with monitoring and observability in mind, with important parts of monitoring that will use on-chain data.

• You will support building up and scaling a dedicated staking operations team.

• You will support less experienced colleagues in career development.

• You will write clear and friendly documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps / Operations / Systems Engineer role in Linux-based environments.

• Relevant professional experience in setting up and operating Blockchain infrastructure, preferably in proof of stake networks.

• At least 2 years of experience as a cloud administrator (preferably AWS), writing infrastructure as code with Terraform, Cloudformation or Pulumi.

• At least 2 years of experience with configuration management (Ansible, Chef or Puppet).

• Work experience in a regulated environment is a plus.

• Experience with orchestration solutions like Kubernetes is a plus.

• Working knowledge of project and workstream management tools, such as Confluence and Jira.

• Be able to contribute to and make steady progress on tasks and be able to ship results regularly.

• Be both process- and result-oriented and understand when to use one or another approach.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with peers on the team.

• Be aware of when to ask for help when getting stuck and don’t go down the rabbit hole.

• Have a growth mindset: dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
