Messari is hiring a Web3 Software Engineer, Intel
Compensation: $135k - $155k
Location: NY New York City, New York, United States
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to build and maintain one of our core enterprise offerings: Intel. Intel is a real-time monitoring and alerting system for events in the crypto space. Events from forks, hacks, exchange listings, to protocol upgrades and more are delivered in near real-time to Enterprise users via email and Slack. Intel is a major component of our enterprise product suite and we aim to substantially enhance its capabilities in the coming months with the help of strong engineering talent.
This is a critical role where you will work full-time on our Intel system and grow the product from a strong foundation to a fleet of microservices. You will build new analytical integrations, add new methods of monitoring and notification, and build new ways to bridge our quantitative data sets with qualitative alerts.
The right person for this role should be creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable with a high degree of ownership over a critical customer-facing system. Our codebase is mostly written in Go, with some Typescript and Java. For most of our new services, we like Go for its simplicity and maintainability. We deploy using Kubernetes on Amazon Web Services. That being said, we're not dogmatic and always believe in using the best tool for the job.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain a robust suite of services to support the Intel product
- Build new notification systems integrating with various third-party systems
- Create modular and sharable real-time alerting components that can be used across the organization
- Scale up our system throughput by an order of magnitude
Who you are
- 4+ years experience with modern backend technologies including Golang, Postgres, and AWS
- Experience maintaining a mission-critical product in production
- A desire to work on big complex projects with lots of creative freedom
- A passion for shipping high-quality products
- Empathetic and love to help your teammates grow
Projects you could work on
- Integrations! Design and build integrations into new platforms to increase customer optionality
- Modularization!Standardize and stage our alerting mechanisms to make it easier for all our apps to notify users in a timely manner
- Filtering! Improve the means by which Intel users can select which messages they wish to receive and which they do not as the scope of the product continuously increases
- Data visualization! Attach quantitative context to qualitative alerts; for example, linking a major event to a major change in price, transaction count, network activity or health, etc.
What's it like to work with our engineering team?
- A welcoming and open environment with people who love to collaborate on ideas and tackle complex problems
- Work with a small team of engineers with large impact across product, research, and business development
- Participate in forums like Family Meals and Messari Lab to share ideas or technologies you’ve been exploring and tinkering with
