WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Sr. Software Engineer - Android, you will be responsible for the coding, innovative design, and layout of Android applications to support the vision of our Product and UX teams. You will support UX concept design and contribute to bottom-up technical designs with our Mobile App team. You will work extensively as a hands-on software engineer building enterprise-grade mobile apps in Android and contributing to multi-platform (iOS/Android) components and services. You are passionate about your craft, have experience building and supporting Web apps in production, and are seeking opportunities to hone your skills in the world of Web3. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Building Android frameworks with minimal guidance
  • Working with our iOS team on cross-platform solutions and common design patterns
  • Daily use of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Regular use of coroutines, JSON & RESTful APIs, SQLlite
  • Debugging and performance testing of code
  • Writing clean, well-factored, and tested UI code
  • Identifying potential problems and resolving application bottlenecks
  • Using GitLab, Figma, JIRA, and Confluence for day-to-day work

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

This role is intended for a highly motivated and experienced Android developer who has successfully delivered Android apps into production for large user bases. To ensure success, you must have a passion for mobile app development and software best practices. You have extensive experience writing software and see the joy in working with others to develop, test, and deliver software into production, and consider yourself an emerging expert in using Kotlin. You are passionate about modern software architectures and deployment strategies and continuously seek ways to improve the systems you support. You are technical and business-minded, taking a risk-based approach to prioritize efforts. You are outgoing and love collaborating with others, engaging with your team on group calls, and working closely with your teammates. You work well with numerous cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, growing company.

YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

You have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline, with 5+ years of professional experience at software companies. You have at least 3 years of hands-on mobile application development experience for enterprise-grade apps used by at least thousands of daily users. Previous experience with decentralized applications, decentralized identities, and blockchain technology is preferred. Experience working at a software startup is desired.
