Company Name: tastytradeĀ Role: Software Engineer (Android)Location: Hybrid - Chicago, IL (3 days/week in office)Ā  As a Software Engineer on the Mobile Team, you’ll be part of a team of engineers that builds out the technology that powers our retail brokerage business and supports our other business initiatives. We care about the speed and stability of our back-end systems as much as we care about the customer-facing applications we build. Our architecture is consistently evolving as our business grows and we face different technical challenges, but always with a focus on practicality and performance.Ā Ā  You’ll work on existing mobile applications, taking on ownership of current features as well as lead new ones, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Our mobile engineers work mostly in Swift and Kotlin, but Java is heavily used for shared logic.Ā  What You'll Do:Ā 

Work with and own the code base for our Android platforms.Ā  Write application code using Java and Kotlin.Ā  Maintain shared behavior logic written in Java.Ā  Improve the code quality of a large code base.Ā  Participate in full application lifecycle (concept, design, build, deploy, test, and release to the app store).Ā  Solve the type of challenging engineering problems that come with building a highly interactive trading experience.Ā  Collaborate with the backend development team to enhance our UI experience.Ā  Partner with our product, design, and QA teams to customize the trading experience for the Android platforms.Ā 

Who You Are:Ā 

You have 3 or more years of experience building complex applications for Android using Java or Kotlin.Ā  You’ve shipped Android applications to production.Ā  You have experience working with large code bases, managing a shared REST API library, and writing unit tests.Ā  You are able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to deliver well-designed, reusable, and high-quality code on time.Ā  Experience with FastlaneĀ  Experience building Android applicationsĀ  Experience with dependency management tools (Gradle/Maven)Ā  A passion for UI/UX designĀ  Cross-Platform experience a plus (iOS + Android)Ā  Experience trading equities, equity options, futures, or futures options a plusĀ
