The opportunity:

Uphold is looking for talented and motivated software engineers in the making with a keen interest in the fronted engineering field and technologies to join us in June for a Summer Internship at the core of our Frontend Team at Uphold.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity where you’ll get to work on a project side by side with a team of engineers that are passionate about frontend development with a great sense of collaboration and responsibility. We work day by day evolving our applications to change the way people access money.

What we have to offer you:

Uphold's Summer Internship provides you a first experience in the job market, and provides insight into Uphold's processes and work dynamics, designed for students and recent graduates.

As a summer intern at Uphold, you will be challenged to pursue a small project from start to end on your own, while having proper guidance and support along the way. We’ll work with you to define the project: we’ll get to know you a little bit, understand what challenges you prefer and better fit you before we kick it off. This is what it looks like:

• 8 weeks duration, starting in June, ending in August, flexible timeline.
• Participation will be on-site, remote or both.
• You’ll get some awesome Uphold Swag on your first day :)
• You’ll have a mentor who will be responsible for providing orientation and supervision.
• You’ll be assigned a buddy who can help you get acclimated to Uphold, adjust more quickly, and help you throughout this period.
• Uphold will provide you with a laptop during the length of your collaboration with us.
• If the internship is successfully completed, you’ll be entitled to a compensation up to EUR 2,000!

Required qualifications:

• Ongoing Academic studies or Degree, preferred in engineering, computer science, or information systems.
• Good analytical, programming, debugging, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Fluent written and oral English skills.
• Good communication skills, both orally and written.

Bonus if you have:

• Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages.
• Experience with user interface design.
• Knowledge of REACT tools including React.js, Webpack and React Native..
• Familiarity with methodologies/best practices such as the GitHub Flow, Test Driven Development, Code Coverage, Continuous Testing & Integration.
• Creativity, curiosity, and a growth mindset.
• Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets as they are core to our business.
• Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts on your interests and research.
• Open-source project contributions of any kind, such as tools developed to solve specific problems you’ve had or fixing issues on existing projects.
