You’ll Be Responsible for...
- Working with concept artists, 3d artists, animators, and 2d artists to bring the game world to life while keeping it visually stunning and performant
You’re a Good Fit if...
You are/have:
- Passion for aesthetically pleasing game art
- Easily annoyed by aliasing and visual artifacts
- Strong understanding of smooth blending and compositing techniques
- Expert in handling transparent/semitransparent rendering
- Expert in standard shader and lighting pipelines (e.g. PBR)
- Ability to read and modify any shader code
- Large repertoire of known shader techniques
- Bonus: lots of experience working with the web shader stack (WebGL, GLSL, especially THREE.js)
- Experience with multiview rendering (mirrors, cameras, portals)
- Experience with advanced shading techniques (reprojection, multi-pass rendering, SSAO, DOF, HDR)
- Skilled in framebuffer pipeline management (swapping, stalls, resize)
- Expert in 3D math, including matrices, vectors, quaternions, trigonomery, and reference frames
- Have worked with custom shadowing stacks (e.g. cascaded shadow maps, shadow volumes)
- Have worked with 3d textures/voxel lighting
- Have worked with meshing systems (marching cubes, dual contouring)
- Passion for procedural generation algorithms (noises, fractals, cellular automata, noise textures, etc)
- Familiarity with material and geometry hacking + overrides (e.g. precomputed attributes, material swaps)
- Skilled at working with texture mapping (UV, mesh parameterization, triplanar projection)
- Skilled at performance tuning (draw lists, texture bandwidth management, shader optimization, transform feedback, overdraw)
- Familiarity with optimization techniques like baking, texture atlasing, instancing, LOD, culling, etc
- Ability to test, debug, and tune graphics performance across hardware devices
