Engineering Director - Crypto at Checkout.com
The Crypto team at Checkout.com is focused on unlocking the value of Web3 for businesses and communities around the world. We already serve many of the largest crypto companies, and we see the importance of crypto networks growing significantly over time. We're committed to building solutions that will enable crypto and non-crypto companies alike to take advantage of Web3 innovation, seamlessly and at scale.
As the Director of Engineering at Checkout.com you'll build and lead the Engineering function, growing the Engineering team from the ground up. Partnering with the Crypto Product Lead your leadership will ensure the group Crypto vision is realised through Engineering excellence.
What will you be Doing?
- Build our Crypto Engineering function, setting the culture in the teams whilst crafting an organisation that enables high velocity and quality product development.
- Collaborate with Product leadership in setting the product roadmap and engineering priorities to deliver on the groups key objectives
- Understand and anticipate trends in the development of blockchain technology and advise how new innovation can be applied to Checkout.com products.
- Determine the sequencing of how we build crypto platform based capabilities to unlock product opportunities over time.
- Develop a data driven culture across the group's engineering team to supervise key technical metrics to support the prioritisation of product development.
- Drive a culture of cross-team learning that encourages engineers to present to a wider engineering audience.
About You
- Have led multiple Software Engineering Teams in a high scale environment
- Experience in building Engineering projects from scratch
- Experience in or proven passion for Crypto
- Experience working on blockchain applications, trading systems and security frameworks/products is highly desirable
- Able to translate complex technical concepts and requirements to non-technical audiences
- Able to hire and retain the world’s best talent
- Solid experience in Software Development, Design and Architecture, particularly in a complex domain with an emphasis on quality.
- Experience developing, leading and implementing an agile approach across multiple product engineering teams.
