While the traditional investing process is cumbersome, manual, and inefficient, we are redeveloping the entire system from the ground up, building a technology-first approach that makes it simple to discover, deploy and manage alternative investments.

Role Overview

The Investment Associate will help build and manage Gridline's crypto investment strategies alongside our CIO and the broader investment team. This position is an integral part of our investment team and will be responsible for developing and overseeing quantitative and qualitative processes, from idea generation to investment research to financial modeling and portfolio construction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental primary research on blockchain technologies/protocols and cryptocurrencies
• Build financial models for prospective cryptocurrency investments with illustrative value creation and risk/returns analytics
• Propose portfolio construction (holdings, weightings, etc) founded on rigorous quantitative and qualitative research
• Make asset allocation / strategy mix recommendations to the Investment Committee based on strategy risk/reward prospects
• Monitor daily events, news flow, competitive dynamics, and risk metrics across the ecosystem
• Represent Gridline with clients and consultants as related to due diligence process and oversight.
  

Qualifications

• Preferred: BA/BS degree in finance or related field, with strong credentials and relevant work experience.
• 3-5+ years of crypto / blockchain experience in an investing and/or operating capacity, especially with management experience across cycles
• Experience with asset allocation, portfolio construction and related concepts.
• Client facing exposure with strong presentations and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to excel in an interactive team environment.
• A self-starter with strong analytical/communication skills, demonstrated leadership, and ability to “own” initiatives and work in a dynamic environment (we are a start up and move fast!)
