We are currently looking for a proactive hands-on individual who will be able to join our growing team as a Legal Counsel or In-house solicitor in the UK or Malta . As a Legal Counsel and In-House Solicitor, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal support to our organization. You will be responsible for managing all legal aspects related to contracts, litigation, court orders, and legal structuring. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in fintech and financial services law.
Key Responsibilities include
● Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
● Managing and overseeing the litigation process in the company by collaborating closely with external counsel who will be handling litigation .
● Liaise with regulatory bodies, and other legal entities to ensure compliance with legal requirements and court orders.
● Provide legal advice and support on corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
● Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including data protection, financial regulations, and corporate governance.
● Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure best practices.
● Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, finance, and operations, to support business objectives. Desired Skills and Experiences
● Solicitor, Lawyer or equivalent qualifications.
● Can work autonomously, possess good time management.
● Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
● Fluency in the English language.
● Solicitor registration is an asset yet not a requirement.
● At least 3yrs experience PQE
