THE ROLE

As an Analytics Engineer Manager you will be responsible for growing and managing our data analytics team. Localcoin is a financial technology company that operates the largest cryptocurrency ATM network in Canada, we will rely on the experienced and motivated Analytics Engineer Manager for powerfully insightful data to inform our systems and solutions.

You will have a data driven mindset combined with a rare curiosity and ability to think outside the box to solve problems. We are looking for someone willing to jump right in to help the company get the most out of our data.

Reporting directly to our IT Director, you will be building out data integration, warehouse and visualization solutions to capture data, drive insights and deliverables.

YOUR IMPACT

• Build and manage a team of data experts through 1:1's, daily standups and group knowledge sharing sessions
• Serve as key thought leader internally by applying your expertise in analytical thinking and horizontal problem solving through cloud infrastructure, data pipelines/transformation, and the presentation of data to drive analytics and insights throughout the business
• Drive building and optimizing key metrics and reporting across all departments to support the business with decision making
• Assist in business report generation to internal and external customers for business decision making
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, to solve a wide variety of problems and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Act as a subject matter expert by translating outputs from each department into clear requirements and provide strategic insights to help achieve business goals
• Manage the development of data resources, gather requirements, develop strategic project roadmaps, organize sources and maintain data pipelines for business intelligence, reporting and analytics.
• Assist in data administration, modelling and integration activities in data warehouse systems.
• Propose, plan and implement end-to-end data pipeline solutions given the data stack of your choice which might include but not limited to: dbt, Fivetran, Stitch, Snowflake, Bigquery, Redshift, dbt,Looker, Mode, Periscope, Chartio, Metabase, Redash
• Support the development of Data standards to meet business goals.
• Coordinate with the business units to identify new data requirements, analysis strategies and reporting mechanisms.
• Assist in design and generation of reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work with the business units to improve business operations by optimizing internal data visualization and analytics
• Recommend enhancements and modifications to optimize data processes.
• Address data queries and issues in a timely fashion.
• Maintain documentation for all data processes.

THIS IS YOU

• 5+ years total in the Data/Analytics Engineering space, working with strong Python and complex SQL skills
• 1+ years of experience in managing other team members in a formal or informal capacity
• Strong working knowledge of cloud warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflare, BigQuery
• Excellent Knowledge of the data transformation and data warehouse modeling process
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Redash or PowerBI
• Analytical thinker with the ability to take data outputs and turn it into impactful stories
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity to solve unique business challenges
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical business leaders
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced team with concurrent projects

THIS IS NICE

• Experience with dbt - data building tool pipelines
• Education related degree on Data Science field with Machine Learning emphasis
• Data Analytics certifications
