Programming Language (PL) Engineers design, build, and improve safe abstractions of complex systems. Mysten PL engineers enhance the programmability networks, optimize runtimes for high performance, and harden toolchains against attackers.
What You'll Do:
- Developing features and improvements to the Move programming language.
- Collaborating with the blockchain team on the programming language interfaces, execution, and storage
- Work closely with smart contract developers and application designers to develop safely and with scalability in mind.
- Continuing to evolve and support the Move open-source community.
- 5+ years of experience in hands-on software engineer
- Expertise in compiler implementation, runtimes, optimization, or static analysis--we’re looking for someone who can read and understand research papers from the field and design systems based on them. Bonus points if you’ve written such papers!
- Experience with tools, practices, and programming patterns for ensuring software correctness
- Experience with a systems programming language such as Rust, Go, Swift, or C/C++ Interest or experience in “smart contract” languages, especially Move and Solidity
- Interest or experience in open, decentralized, permissionless technologies, and the intersection of contemporary technology, economics, finance and governance.
- Exceptional written communication skills and an enthusiasm for clear and concise
- Willingness to participate in technical discussions and reviews synchronously, asynchronously, in person or remotely
