Reports to: Director of DeFi

W3BCLOUD is looking to add a full stack developer to the team with an interest in DeFi. The role will take responsibility for building out key DeFi infrastructure, bespoke tooling, APIs and automations aligned with product roadmaps. This person is endlessly curious, wants to learn new decentralized development technologies as they emergeIs a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment driving tangible business results. Working closely with the DeFi team, you will provide input, direction and access to the wider ecosystem through established relationships in the Blockchain and DeFi space.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Architect, develop, test and deploy DeFi product improvements and optimisations as we move forward on our roadmap
• Collaborate with the DeFi team to design, scope, build requirements and deliver future product and services releases
• Iteratively architect and build key DeFi infrastructure. You will be working closely with the CTO and engineering team to build a robust system
• Set a good engineering process with continuous development and automated testing. Spearhead the QA process and ensure that requirements are being met
• Develop frameworks, core modules and libraries such as CSS / TypeScript, to create reusable code components to ease development
• Ensure the safety of users deploying rigorous security and ethical standards throughout the development stack
• Integrate future products across leading platforms and protocols
• Work closely with the top crypto projects in the space
• Help shape the engineering team by assisting engineering recruitment
• Develop high-quality code that is maintainable, performant and accessible
• Research deep technical aspects of DeFi projects across different blockchains. Ability to read and easily understand technical whitepapers
• Participate in all of the DeFi protocol communication channels - discord, telegram, twitter, etc. to enhance knowledge of, stay up to date on and build relationships with DeFi projects
• Build relationships with key leaders, protocols and teams in DeFi/NFT and L2 protocols
• Identify opportunities in the traditional financial system (lending/borrowing, insurance, derivatives, asset management, etc.) that could be disrupted by blockchain technology

• Provable experience delivering high quality, functional code running on Ethereum
• Experience delivering on other L1s and L2s is preferred, but not required
• Proven Technical understanding of DeFi products and protocols
• Strong experience in OOP languages and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)
• Experience interacting with the Ethereum blockchain and working with Ethers/Web3js
• Competency in HTML/CSS and an ability to implement designs
• Strong knowledge of the blockchain and DeFi space with previous experience in the Fintech/traditional finance systems sectors
• Must have experience interacting with DeFi protocols - lending, staking, trading, yield farming, investing in tokens, governance, etc.
• Must understand blockchain basics: transactions, wallets, smart contracts, double spend, transactions pool, mining
• Established relationships with Vendors, Partners and Knowledge leaders in the industry
• Experience working with collaboration tools such as Airtable, Discord, Telegram, and Zoom
• Autonomous in taking ownership and at the same time team player
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
