About the team
The AML team plays an important part in preventing money laundering activities and helps in eliminating bad actors from onboarding onto our platform. The AML team in Cake DeFi holds itself to the highest standards and takes Compliance very seriously in order to provide the best services to our users.
We are expanding our team and looking for candidates who are based in Malaysia.
What you’ll do:
- Perform KYC and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews for individual and corporate users
- Perform validation of completeness and accuracy of KYC documentation including but not limited to user’s identity, beneficial ownership, and bearer share information
- Liaise with users, as necessary, to obtain relevant documents and information as part of KYC and EDD process
- Perform and review periodic monitoring of the customer’s transactions and ongoing name screening for users.
- Conduct investigations and research on potentially suspicious users
- Reviewing Sanctions, Politically Exposed Person (PEP), adverse news searches as well as evaluate information available through public sources or vendors
- Highlight any positive name hit, sanction country, entity and person and PEP
- Collaborate closely with global compliance team and other functions / stakeholders
- Participate in projects with relation to regulatory changes, new processes, system enhancements or other ad-hoc global projects / developments
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant working experience. Fresh graduates or those with lesser years of working experience are welcomed to apply.
- Working knowledge in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) functions is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
- Good judgement and analytical skills
- Natural desire to learn, grow and evolve within your role and expertise in our ecosystem
