To boost our growth, we are now looking for an energetic, skilful Backend Engineer - Crypto to join our newly established Crypto Team.

Requirements:

We are looking for a Crypto Backend Engineer to join our newly established Crypto Team. This position will require as part of an agile, cross disciplined teams to produce high quality products by advocating quality assurance by means of the most modern test standards and approaches.

We expect our engineers to think about the product holistically, build new services and features that are reliable and maintainable, be humble, ask questions, co-operate, and assist others and finally, be a friendly advocate for crypto and web3.

What you’ll do:

• Advise and lead developers on back-end standards, best practice and tactics to meet delivery
• Building scalable Apis, and support transition from Javascript to Typescript
• Optimization of NoSQL and SQL data systems
• Improve product quality through code reviews, writing effective unit tests
• Writing code in a TDD fashion
• Hands on approach to development and leadership
• Programming in Typescript using the serverless paradigm
• Creating repeatable builds on AWS (using tools like cloud formation, the cdk, or just the aws cli)
• Finding and choosing the best tools for any given job, be that a lambda function running JS, or a long-running docker-container, or an apache spark etl job.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Working within a flexible, delivery focussed Agile team / tribe
• Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
• Motivate the development process for efficiency and performance
• Works together with the software developer to enhance and improve programs
• Research and compare similar competitor products
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements
• Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.

Required Qualification & Skill Set:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Marketing, eCommerce, or similar.
• Minimum 5+ years of backend development experience in cloud or non-cloud systems with 3 years as a senior with Functional Programming TypeScript, AWS, TypeScript, GraphQL, API/SDK integrations to crypto exchanges/custodians/platforms. You will be familiar with blockchain nodes/web3.
• Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found.
• 2+ years of Experience of web applications, Java script, React Native, cloud is preferred.
• An interest in the crypto space, and a love for building tools that help users navigate the web3 world.
• A knack for innovating and proactively finding ways to achieve metrics and business goals.
• Ability to recommend solutions when hitting inevitable roadblocks and provide constructive feedback to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Mental fortitude to handle multiple responsibilities in a highly rapid environment.
• Work closely with IT Development & Product team to define roadmap and features
• Good communication (verbal, written and presentation skills.
