Interchain is a young, ambitious, and values-led team working on the core blockchain technology of the Cosmos ecosystem and the Cosmos Hub. We’re headquartered in Berlin, Germany, but our team stretches from the west coast of the US to eastern Europe. We keep in touch through Github, Slack, Discord, and Zoom, and meet in person periodically (when COVID permits). All in all, the software we develop secures billions of dollars in value across many different systems, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We strive to build world-class software while having plenty of laughs along the way.

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Community Advocate to help us grow the community across different channels.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting community wayfinding within the cosmos dev discord and cosmos hub discord, making sure both spaces are welcoming and that tickets are filled.
• Negotiating the complexity of these spaces and handling conflict when it arises.
• Tending primary cosmos telegram channels and relaying important information between core contributors and community members
• Producing social media posts, newsletters, and blog posts summarising key cosmos activities or contributing information to existing broadcast channels
• Protecting users of cosmos products by identifying scam websites and bad actors and submitting takedown notices
• Identifying positive contributions in the community and developing those voices to be more engaged
• Socialising non-violent communication strategies among key contributors and community members
• Improving forum.cosmos.network and turning it into a healthy community center
• Support expansion of content, product, and other libraries to enable community growth.
  
  

There are no hard requirements on previous experience, but ideally you have:

• Fluency in English
• Ability to work autonomously, set agenda and prioritize work with minimal input
• Excellent communication and copywriting skills
• Strong editorial eye
• Knowledge of the blockchain ecosystem and/or experience collaborating with the open-source community
• Experience in community management or customer service
• Experience in launching and managing community initiatives
• Experience with content marketing, social media or related tools
• Understanding of and passion for decentralized technology
• Ability to create and communicate clear milestones on community growth and engagement
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced team
