Web3 Custody Engineering Manager - Global Team Leader

Compensation: $71k - $79k estimated

Purpose of the Role

As Custody Engineering Manager, you will build and manage a team of Engineers working on the BitMEX.com custody solutions including signing, wallets, and funding. You will collaborate with functional heads across the company including technical and non-technical teams to deliver the next generation of custody services and functionalities for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of BitMEX’s Custody Engineering team
  • Responsible for the technology solutions for the Custody and movement of digital assets and the associated security, as well as the firm’s accounting and wallets infrastructure
  • Set architectural vision and roadmap for the systems and team
  • Mentor and coach team members
  • Lead technical and architectural design initiatives
  • Set strategic vision, communication upwards, downwards and laterally.
  • Lead Custody engineering projects end to end to deliver business solutions for both the existing Derivatives business as well as new Custody business
  • Work with Custody Product Owners on delivering technology solutions to support the business process around custody and movement of digital assets for the 100x businesses
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships in Revenue, Trading Technology, Compliance, Product Engineering, Security and Customer Support teams
  • Actively participate in setting and upholding engineering standards across 100x

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience building and managing engineering teams in a Financial Services or Technology company
  • Experience delivering large scale change and senior stakeholder management
  • Adept at conflict management, strong mediation skills, adaptable, proactive and empathetic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical background with Engineering degree preferred
  • Preferred: experience building solutions on or with Bitcoin or Ethereum-like blockchains
  • Preferred: experience building and running cryptocurrency custodial services
